digi-shots Posted June 23, 2017 Share #1 Posted June 23, 2017 This camo smock came from the same US Navy veteran as the tiger pants I posted. The smock is very, very light weight and has a drawstring around the bottom edge. Can anyone identify it? Thanks so much!
doyler Posted June 23, 2017 Share #2 Posted June 23, 2017 Looks like the Austrailian rain coat. THese sometimes surface in SF or SEAL groups or those who worked with the Aussies.
digi-shots Posted June 23, 2017 Author Share #3 Posted June 23, 2017 Thanks, Doyler! Spot on with the Aussies... there's also a green (very green! and not od green) plastic canteen used by the same Navy veteran - Broad Arrow marked and dated 1965. 63 RECON Posted June 23, 2017 Share #6 Posted June 23, 2017 they where nicknamed smock, psychological due to the water repellent qualities not being that good. There was a matching hat for these jackets as well. Its a strange cam as well, i don't know the name of it and i don't think anything else was built in the same pattern. They used the left over material right into the 90's to line minimi and steyr mag pouches for our belt webbing ensemble. I think there is a box of these jackets at my work.
