Your 474th patches are upside down. :(

No, no....these Norwegian Viking ships actually float under water..

Must've changed the orientation when cropping/resizing...

The 1st Cav with bridle is original, e.g., c 1951 or earlier, but someone added RECON more recently.

Thanks, Dave. How recently would you say it was added? Do you believe it was added by the soldier, or by someone looking to make it a more desirable patch?

I like the 507th Very cool....

Thanks! I thought it was a nice variation on the design. A shame it was determined to be a more modern made example. Would love to know if anyone knows the background on this patch. Have read it was possibly made as a reunion patch, but nothing concrete to confirm.

Even on my computer screen I can tell the threads in RECON appear to fluoresce, so I would say much more recently than c. 1951.

80s? 90s? Last year? Someone, not the GI, messed up a desirable patch. I mean, whomever did it didn't even use chain stitch like someone originally did on the bridle decades ago.

It sure does glow light the sun under black-light. What a shame. Do you think it would be worthwhile to try to restore? Afraid I may do more harm than good.

Perhaps if done very slowly and very carefully with a thread remover, you know that fondue fork looking thing.
