littlewilly Posted June 18, 2017 Share #7 Posted June 18, 2017 This style was indeed popular with the ladies. I have 3 pair; one set came with a Red Cross Motor Corps lady's uniform, one came with a Salvation Army Lassie uniform, and one pair I just picked up at a lady's estate auction (no clue if she was involved in WWI in any capacity). All 3 are like this pair without hobnails on the soles. All three were small sizes. I would not be surprised if RC or SA men wore similar styles. None of my Army officer boots are this style, but my limited collection of footwear is certainly not large enough to make any official declarations from. My fading memory has me thinking I read somewhere that these boots were also offered for sale by J. C. Penny during the war (and after no doubt).
