Went to an auction and was able to grab some wool coats for $135. I hadn't a ww2 coat in my collection. Now I've got 12. Grabbed some other random items as well. My house stinks of mil surplus now. Dry cleaning bill is gonna be ugly.

The life preserver is ww2 dated, leggings are '67. Soap, mechanics apron, blanket, and others, I'm not sure of. Posted Image

Nice haul on the Army and Marine overcoats, will you show colse ups of patches etc, names or serial numbers if they're there for your research help?

CNY Militaria

Looks like the shadow of a 2nd Marine Division patch.

A quick check of the muster rolls reveals that Clarence L. Voliva enlisted in April 1946, was with the 2nd Marine Division by 1947, became an officer in 1951 and served with the 1st Marine Division in Korea, leaving service in 1953 as a 1st Lt.

Sgt. BARney

Love those large lots!!! No telling what you will find in pockets, pouches, etc., and the miscellaneous small items.

Thanks guys. You're right, it's a lot more fun finding random lots full of militaria hoping no other collectors are seeing the same thing. I passed up on a lot of uniforms that I'm guessing went cheap. My kids were getting restless and I'd have to wait another hour to bid on it. Half were ww2. No airborne which I was really hoping for.
