Lost a good friend this morning. They called hospice in last January and after the 3rd day he woke up and winked at the nurse. They were amazed he made it, but up until the last week, he was back to watching baseball and eating in the dining room. Had a shot of Scotch with him last August on his 100th birthday, he only missed his 101 by less than 2 months. He gave me the Walther he brought back, said he had it nickel plated, because it made it look sharper!!! He loved to read, going to be hard getting all of my books back now that he is gone. RIP I.B., going to miss your smile and stories

Its sad but heart warming to know he had a friend like you, He wanted you to have that pistol because he knew you'd treasure it the way he did your friendship. Its amazing these guys, I have one I see once a week, he loves to play domino's at 98 he's good. We played two games yesterday he beat me both. LOL. A game I had all but forgotten I played with my grandmother. He can play all day I think. When he gets in a mood every now and then he'll share a War story with me. But doesn't like to talk about the horrors he went through loosing friends. Still its hard knowing that the inevitable will come. I told him he will be missed by a lot of people and friends. He smiled and told when the day came he was ready. Life wasn't so good to him much (health wise) anymore. He is a friend and I have to admit, It will be tough. God rest your friends soul! RIP, A fading fast generation! God bless you for being his friend!

Very sorry to hear that your friend and World War Two veteran has passed away. Friendships such as those are rare anymore, and the memories will always be yours to treasure. It must have been an honor to know him, and be his friend. RIP to Mr. Davis.

Sincere condolences,

RC
