milcollector Posted June 13, 2017 Share #1 Posted June 13, 2017 Hi, I have this brass plaque I got from a 101st vet a number of years ago. He said the locals gave these to US personnel after the battle. The back is marked made in Couvin Belgium. The plaque is about 6 inches in diameter. They must be somewhat common, does anyone have any more info. on these? Thanks, David

Ronny67 Posted June 13, 2017 Share #3 Posted June 13, 2017 Made from spent shell casings from the battle I believe...
milcollector Posted June 14, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted June 14, 2017 Thank you guys for the information. The use of brass shells makes sense since that would have been a free source of brass during a time of shortages.
