doinworkinvans Posted June 13, 2017 Share #1 Posted June 13, 2017 I got these off ebay when I came across them, just for reference sake...not looking to profit by any means all rights go to owner. (Shew! Glad thats over!) Just another example of never say never....we all (myself included) look for the uniform that makes perfect sense, and if it doesn't fit right in the neat little box...well then, it's probably a put together uniform. I am so guilty of this. But photos like this help me relax a little bit, and stop and try to figure out what exactly could have happened for such an odd combo of items. A PH ribbon, with a cloth made CIB, and Air Corps brass and 15th AAF patch!!
tredhed2 Posted June 13, 2017 Share #2 Posted June 13, 2017 He earned the CIB w/ the 91st ID, in which he was also wounded, and transfered to 15th AF. But the caption does a nice job of explaining what happened and why. Too many guys forget the first letter in AAF stands for Army. It was an Army branch, like Transportation Corps, Quartermaster Corps, etc.
