4th Miss Cav Posted June 7, 2017 Share #1 Posted June 7, 2017 I picked this up at an estate auction a couple of days ago. It is dated 1917 inside the sleeve. I cannot make out the depot but I think it starts with the letter O. Buttons are all marked Horstman Philadelphia. It has a few small moth nips but overall I think it is in great shape. There were a lot of military items there and no one but me seemed interested in bidding on any of it, so I did well. If anyone knows the depot I would appreciate the info. 4th Miss Cav Posted June 7, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted June 7, 2017 Also there are no holes in the collar for the EGA's. Is there a reason for this or is this an unissued uniform.
mvmhm Posted June 7, 2017 Share #3 Posted June 7, 2017 Prior to WWI, only officer's wore the EGA on their collars...enlisted Marines earned that right after the battle of Belleau Wood thanks to Sec. of the Navy Franklin D. Roosevelt. Mark sends

C. Roelens Posted June 7, 2017 Share #5 Posted June 7, 2017 The Quartermaster's Dept. stamping would look similar to this one. Chuck
