I think you should have enough time to register for show as Jim McDuff is handling it so mail shouldn't take long to get from you to him.

Members can register at the door, correct? Just found my form last night, and didn't figure there was time to send it in. Thanks!

If you collect patches and want to see rare items to add to your collection, this is one of the places I would call a MUST GO TO. Some of the largest and best dealers in the country bring their wares to display and sell. Even if you just look and take pictures you will learn and in the process save thousands of dollars by not making buying mistakes with the knowledge gleaned from attendance. No one knows it all and the people there share their information very willingly. My plug is that I will have 24 cases with just patches but they are not for the novice start up collector. If you are an advanced collector please stop by, I do not think you will be disappointed.

Plus there will be lots of other items for every level of collector, not just the "advanced buyer".

Bob is absolutely correct there will be insignia for all levels in the hobby and actually great for the introduction to the hobby because you willl have experts there to guide and inform you along the way. If you want to feel like a kid in a candy store this is the place to be.

There are a LOT of items for the novice collector.
Again, you don't have to buy something, but at least attend - you can handle what you are interested in, "experience it" and learn from it. By only looking at images on your computer, you are doing yourself a disservice - and that is true for any and all military shows near where you live.
Just like Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart famously said "I can't define it, but I know pornography when I see it", you will KNOW "patch porn" (real patches) when you see them live, in your hand. Forum members can help you all they can with written IDs, explanations, descriptions, etc, but it is up to you to apply it in real life. Then, hopefully, if you have a good memory and see the item again, you will feel more comfortable making purchases.
You will see some tremendous displays here, too, with everything from entry level to advanced.

The best part is that ASMIC members as well as USMF members are generally very willing to help educate others on items. Hands and eyes on a patch, that is being explained to you can not be out-done. I have a wall table, so stop by and say Hi!

Made it back home to Tampa FL last night from the KC ASMIC show and I will report that it was a good show picked up some nice WWI and WWII patches when I get a chance I will post some pictures. In the mean time I will be locking down the house to ride out the storm as of 1:30pm it looks like it's going to be a big one...

As an AAMUC member, if they would like to hold a show in Indianapolis, let me know and I'll help coordinate it!

Had a fantastic show selling....and looking at the displays.....amazing what some collectors focus on, how complete the displays are, and how collectors assemble and prepare their displays for the public.
How many of you saw the 4 or 5 yr old wearing a child's size OG-107 shirt, complete with ALL the insignia, ca. 1965 on Saturday? His dad was with him, as well as an aunt and uncle??
Another dealer, Dave Johnson, and I, let him select him some patches - he thanked us, and then saluted us. He even put back all those he did not select.....
