Brian Keith Posted May 29, 2017 Share #1 Posted May 29, 2017 RIP Indiana National Guard MSG Michael Heister, KIA Afghanistan, loss probably due to an old Soviet anti-tank mine, on March 26, 2005. RIP Indiana National Guard SGM Jeffery McLochlin, KIA Afghanistan, July 5, 2006. Died of wounds sustained when hit by enemy small-arms fire in Orgun-E, Paktika Province, Afghanistan. I understand he was targeted by a trained sniper who hit him when he raised his arm, exposing an unprotected area from the side. He was likely dead before he hit the ground. On Judgement Day, I hope to ask the fate of the sniper. The dark side of me wants him to BURN IN HELL for all eternity; the Christian side of me should want him to find Jesus. I served with Heister and McLochlin in A Company, 1/293 Infantry. I did not deploy with either of them, but was able to attend their Indiana funerals. I did a tour in Afghanistan in 2012-2013. I rendered honors at many Ramp Ceremonies (way too many!) while in Afghanistan. RIP my Friends, I hope to see you on the other side.
