Let's start a topic on the various examples of shoulder sleeve insignia manufactured as reverse images of the approved design, usually for wear as a combat patch. Let's see examples you have, uniforms with reversed patches and photos of reversed patches being worn.

I'll start with a couple of uniforms I once owned, but have since sold, that I picked up at a surplus store outside of Fort Benning.

First up is a reversed 2nd Infantry Division SSI worn as a combat patch on a DCU with the 10th Mountain Division SSI as the current unit of assignment. My guess would be that it was made in Afghanistan or Pakistan but I don't know for sure. It is shaped a little oddly and is smaller than the standard version.

The next one is a DCU with mirror image 2nd Infantry Division SSI worn as the current assignment as well as the combat patch. They both look U.S. made to me.

Some SSI lend themselves to being reversed, such as the 1st Cavalry Division. here are some images of the reversed patch being worn in Iraq as a combat patch, including one worn by the division commanding general, meaning that even if not officially authorized, they were certainly sanctioned at the highest level.

Commanding officer of the 11th ACR during an awards ceremony during the 80s wearing a reversed combat patch. He is presumably wearing the same SSI on his other sleeve.

There is a thread about the CATF patch.

How about a reversed 116th Infantry Brigade? The other one, I assume, did not have the merrowed edge applied.

I actually don't come across many right shoulder designed combat patches. There's always the right facing, Southeast Asia Command patch. I wish I could stumble across a couple of those. :D

I posted one, a 2nd ID, opposite facing a while back. I snuck a picture of it, as I couldn't own it. Because...I work in a "correctional" setting. It came in on a tweeker. Nice in-country made (I'm sure Iraq) with CIB. I'm sure they goit it off of another tweeker as the person wearin g it was a female. I saw "it" (whether it was the jacket or the gal) come it twice before it disappeared. I just shook my head. Could I have made it dissapear, yes, but Etrhics are easy when you do the right thing.

Checked my old content and found the shot.
