1955

DEACTIVATED:
1967

HISTORY:

1955 to 1967

In February 1955, the 27th Infantry Division of the New York National Guard was activated as the 27th Armored Division, New York National Guard.

The 27th Armored Division remained until late 1967 or early 1968. At that time, the division was deactivated and reorganized as a brigade of the 50th Armored Division.

27th Armored in Bullion over a standard embroidered patch. This belonged to the Asst. Division Commander in the 60's.

Justin that is a very cool patch. My father belonged to the 27th ARMD DIV, late 50's-early 60's.

It was the 227th or 27th Signal Company. He did 5yrs and got out a SSG.

1987 I joined the NYNG, 2/108th INF- 27th INF BDE- 10th MTN(LI). A former unit of the 27th Armored Division.
