If two collectors decide they really want something, actual values tend to go out the window. Or if there is a dishonest seller, he can either bid up an overly eager collector with schill bidding, or he can run a completely dishonest auction and use two or more schill bidding accounts to run up the price to whatever number he wants, then in a few weeks or months put the same wing up for auction again and say that "a recent auction of a "similar" wing went for $153 so bidders should bid at least that much. IK am not making that accusation in this case as I would need to dig down into the bidding history of the bidders and buyers and their past patterns to say one way or the other, but in general this kind of gaming is sadly done more often than you would imagine.

As Kurt said, it is an uncommon wing, personally, I think it's a good price.

By the way, I would not say it is a pre-WWII wing.

More like early WWII.
