Glider Pilot Daughter Posted April 30, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2017 I am going though my Dad's WWII stuff and I found these. I believe from my research that they are Italian. He was in Italy. Can anyone confirm and add any information? Peggy

Custermen Posted June 27, 2017 Share #6 Posted June 27, 2017 Nice collection. I've seen these cap badges in all colors, shapes and sizes so I can't say exactly what type of uniform the background material goes with. Also some of these badges had metallic numerals in the black center; there were some unattached units that did not. This is my best guess. From top to bottom. (1) MVSN insignia. (Volunteer Militia for National Security) was the Fascist Militia formed soon after Mussolini's rise to power in 1923. Army reformed after Italy surrender. Not sure if this is a high ranking officer or staff officer. (2) Heavy Artillery attached to an Army. Similar to cap badge seen in movie "Captain Correlli's Mandolin". Only Regimental and Corps Artillery had numerals in the center. (3) Fascist Italian Infantry
