Colonel Sanders

Hey guys,

Just picked this up, but haven't been able to find an ID on it. I'm pretty sure it's composite based on the missiles, but besides that I haven't had too much luck.

Thanks in advance!

Are those missiles? I think it was a 1950s patch.

They look like rockets to me, along with the bomb and eagle it says 'fighter/bomber' to my eye

Looks like it's over water, so maybe Navy related. Never saw this before Air Force wise, but especially between 45-55 all kinds of stuff went on, so you never know! Still, I would lean towards it being Navy.

Thanks for the replies! Here's a couple that sold in the past I could find.

As far as the WWII/Korea distinction, I'm leaning towards Korea now, but HVAR rockets were used during WWII and VF-37 (http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/146580-ww2-squadron-patch/page-2) had rockets in there design so it's hard to say.

I want to say vc-66 or vc-68 as they were both on the cve 70. Cannot find photos of the insignia though
