Jumpin Jack Posted April 28, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 28, 2017 Here is my blade acquisition from yesterday. It is a 1942 bayonet with blade conversion to a possible fighting knife (blade is much shorter than normal cut-down size). The trademark is identical to both sides of the ricasso. All metal parts have been re-blued. Comments welcomed. Jack
remman Posted April 28, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 28, 2017 Based on the shape of the tip and the shortened blade (reminiscent of the British style No. 5 and L series bayonets) I would guess that it is a Pakistani modified M1905 given to Pakistan post WW II. An illustration of this type can be found in Bayonets from Janzen's Notebook on page 155. In the 40+ years I have been collecting I have seen a dozen or so with this type modification. tankerman Posted April 28, 2017 Share #3 Posted April 28, 2017 Very nice 1905E1. UFH had somebody that enjoyed marking blades; I have one that was struck with 4 different dies. Once on obverse and twice on reverse. Really nice looking piece and a nice find. Thanks for sharing.
