MilitaryPicker1941 Posted April 23, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 23, 2017 Picked up these jackets today at the MTA swap meet and figured I should post them here. The first one is a sateen shirt with direct embroidered tapes, rank, and BOS. It also has a hand made USARV patch

Brian Keith Posted April 23, 2017 Share #3 Posted April 23, 2017 Looks like great finds. Does the shirt just have AAA as the name? Interesting. BKW

patches Posted April 26, 2017 Share #8 Posted April 26, 2017 I don't know on this one, not finding either an RA or Reserve componant officer in the 1968 or 1969 registries with a surname AAA or Aaa. There maybe was other letters picked out, leaving just the A A A??? By the way whats the organizational patch?
MilitaryPicker1941 Posted April 26, 2017 Author Share #9 Posted April 26, 2017 The erdl jj's chevrons are actually velvet with green embroidery. Looking at the AAA jacket again, it seems like it could be missing some letters. Can't see any imprints, but you can see that there is no thread connecting the letters which the U.S. ARMY has. Also, there's no patch on the left sleeve. Can't even see an imprint of one. Here's a picture of the name.

gwb123 Posted April 26, 2017 Share #14 Posted April 26, 2017 That looks Silver or Silvery, a nice theater made full color example. I think what we are looking at are standard US made chevrons that have been darkened with a black marker.
patches Posted April 26, 2017 Share #15 Posted April 26, 2017 I think what we are looking at are standard US made chevrons that have been darkened with a black marker. He says it made of Velvet, which on close examination appears to be (Zooming), than one that had a border embroidered on it.
