N.S. Meyer Wing Original or Restrike?

New to wing collecting and looking for opinions on this N.S Meyer Pilot's Wing. Is it a restrike or original? If original, I'm assuming late war to post-war due to the clutch back design. For what it's worth, it came with smooth face sterling clutches.

I agree with Paul, good piece.

However, I will respectfully say that I have always considered the third pattern Meyer to be post WWII.

I have one that is engraved and dated 1954.

Trying to educate myself John, why is this considered a "third pattern" wing? Thanks.

there are 3 patterns of NS Meyer pilot wings

The first (probably used from around 1919 until mid-WWII) is a the "Adams" pattern.

The second pattern (probably used from around 1941 until the late 50's) is called the "Pelican beak" pattern

The third patter (probably used from post KW until current time) -- I'm not aware of how much overlap there may have been, but I suspect it was significant, is a variation of the second pattern "Pelican beak" pattern.

It seems to me that this wing is of the second pattern, but I could be wrong. It is much easier to see the variations when the are side by side.

The first pattern usually uses the Meyer's shield.

The second pattern usually used the NS Meyer New York and shield.

The third pattern usually uses the NS Meyer New York and 9M or 22M alpha/numeric system.
