New item for the collection

I am an Insurance Agent and obviously I have an office. I have on display many pieces of Militaria. Many folks come into my office and never even notice the stuff. They never acknowledge that it's there. On the other hand many people come in and go nuts over the display. Over the years I have had people bring me items and donate them to my collection....for the record I always offer to pay but many people refuse. Then some people come in wanting to sell an item. I turn down very few items. Today I was out of my office all day preparing for the Tennessee Military Collectors Show in Franklin, TN. I had to run by the office tonight to take care of a little quick business. When I entered my inner sanctum this huge toy/model German Dive Bomber was sitting front and center on my desk. Left there by a retired full bird Colonel who is a client of mine. Some people are just awfully nice and he is one of them. Anyway I wanted to show you guys this massive toy airplane donated to my collection.

I couldn't remember the name of the company that made these things but I remember seeing some at the SOS several years ago.

Yes it was extremely nice of him to drop this off at my office.

Glad you guys like it.

Thats real neat Ronnie.

Also a great gesture by your client/friend.Often these people just want someone who will appreciate the item as they do and money isnt the issue. They want some one to enjoy it.

I have fond memories of building a Stuka both by Revell as a boy.It was a massive kit.Not sure what happned to it.I do have one by monogram I built in 1/48th.Dont have the skills ya'all do in the modeling wolrd but it sure passed a lot of long winter nights as a boy....(yes.. there was a time with no internet) :D

It's interesting, the swastika on the tail has been replaced by an Iron Cross. This was done by a lot of model manufacturers to avoid prohibitions in Europe against such things.

I noticed that too GWB.

Ron my modeling skills are funky. I can put a model together but forget aging it. The Stuka was one of my favorite German planes. Just had a tuff look to it. Are you sure the Stuka you built that came up missing wasn't shot down? I did that a lot. Build a model and hang it in a tree and shoot at it with my BB gun. Yep....who needed the internet. My goodness we had a great life growing up!

That's the first model 1/18th Ultimate Soldier by 21st Century Toys. They had after market swastika decals to put over the tail markings to make them historically correct. The prices on ebay run $75 to 125.

Holy cow! Where can I get the decals?

Thanks.

Ronnie

The place I had gotten them is out of business. Let me check I may have some.
