cperkins510 Posted April 13, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 13, 2017 These tags belonged to an army paratrooper who served in both WWII and the Korean War. The RA prefix and 49-50 tetanus date indicate he likely wore these in his time in Korea early in that conflict. In WWII he was a Pfc. with G/506 and served in Normandy, Holland, and Bastogne. He stayed in the army post-war and was a Sergeant First Class when he was deployed to Korea. Here he remained a paratrooper with the 187 ARCT Rakkasans and was wounded in action in February 1951 during the Battle of Wonju against the Chinese People's Volunteer Army.
