spagg Posted April 12, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 12, 2017 I was thinking about purchasing these N.S. Meyer FE wings, just want to be 100% if they are good! Thank you.
LuftStalg1 Posted April 12, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 12, 2017 Nice sharp edges of a true die striking. Not marked "Sterling". Nice cam'ed shoulder pin. I would never claim to be a wing expert but I like them!
pconrad02 Posted April 12, 2017 Share #3 Posted April 12, 2017 Look to be nice late war to early 1950's Meyer wings
pfrost Posted April 12, 2017 Share #4 Posted April 12, 2017 To be sure, I think the FE wing was a late addition anyway. It was (generally) worn in the Pacific with guys flying the B-29s at the end of the war. There were some early variations that were made and used prior to that both in the ETO and PTO, but I would suspect that the NS Meyer wings are likely from just around 1945 and then well into the post KW era. Somewhere I have a USAF guy wearing a clear NS Meyer wing. That being said, I think that Paul C and Luftstalag1 are correct, this is NOT one of the restrikes. Thank you for sharing. V42 Posted February 28, 2019 Share #8 Posted February 28, 2019 These wings are not WW2 but 50's to maybe the early 60's as you can tell from the shield on the reverse.
