usaf70 Posted April 7, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 7, 2017 Does anyone recognize this wing whether military or civil? It is approx. 1 3/4", sterling with maker mark that is hard to make out. Any information is appreciated.
rustywings Posted April 7, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 7, 2017 I believe your small wing is a sweetheart piece made for airplane mechanics and ground personnel in the 1920's and 30's. Not authorized by the Army Air Corps, but apparently available to both military and civilian mechanics alike. I know of at least three variations to this small winged radial engine design. I think that apple hallmark on the reverse represents Apple Co. or Appleton Co.?
