I have 7 with Parkerized blade finish marked KA-BAR - USN and they all have the bright rectangular peened pommel attachment. I do have one with Bonderized blade finish marked KA-BAR - USN with the round peened pommel attachment like the one you have pictured. If yours has a Parkerized finish you might have a rare one.
