Kansas Raider Posted April 5, 2017 Share #1 Posted April 5, 2017 Did US troops wear Canadian jump wings? Thanks Steve
Kimo Posted April 5, 2017 Share #2 Posted April 5, 2017 Why would they unless maybe a few soldiers were assigned to a Canadian unit for some reason and went through their jump training.
PATCHRAT Posted April 5, 2017 Share #3 Posted April 5, 2017 Yes, US Soldiers did wear /Do wear them and several other countries parachutist wing among many other Foreign awards. Currently they are worn only on the Dress uniform years ago they were also worn on the filed uniform for reference http://ar670.com/articles/view/29/wear-of-foreign-badges/318 in accordance with the procedures provided in AR 600–8–22, to accept, retain, and wear a foreign badge. Regs may have been updated but this will get you started down the right track.
Jumpin Jack Posted April 5, 2017 Share #4 Posted April 5, 2017 Patchrat is absolutely correct. Foreign wings are worn on the right side above the breast pocket. Jack
PATCHRAT Posted April 5, 2017 Share #5 Posted April 5, 2017 I don't know what time period you are looking at but here is a BDU shirt with CANADIAN jump wings, The Shirt has a 1990 contract date This Soldiers was Active duty then went to the GA NG. While on active duty with the 82nd Airborne he was able to earn the Canadian wings. The 24th ID patch above is also a little different. The GA NG unit (48th INF BDE) the Soldier was assigned to was a round out Brigade for the 24th Division.

Kansas Raider Posted April 5, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted April 5, 2017 the reason I asked the question about the Canadian jump wings, I found these 3 wings in a pocket of a 1975, 173rd AB jacket and wondered why they were there
