Red Devil Posted March 26, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 26, 2017 Greetings all! I am indebted to forum member Artur for contacting me with a lead on this sale, which turned out to be not too far from where I work. Everything aligned and I was able to make it down just before they handed out numbers an hour before the sale. After a nail-biting hour and another one inside waiting for access to the restricted "treasure room" of the sale, this incredible group came home with me. It is the latest addition to my humble Occupation Forces collection. It is nicely identified and I was able to assemble as many parts as I could find. The veteran served as a radioman in the Headquarters Platoon, E Co. 35th Constabulary Squadron in 1946 (perhaps later too), after late-WWII service in the 4th Armored Division as part of the 3rd Army. The 35th was stationed at the Bavarian town of Fussen, near the Austrian border. The uniform features the beautiful star-shaped bullion background and felt lightning bolt. Constab DIs are on the shoulders and garrison cover. The uniform pieces appear to be nicely tailored to the taste of this veteran. I feel very excited and honor to be the caretaker of this great group! Many photos to follow. All comments and feedback always welcomed!
Red Devil Posted March 26, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted March 26, 2017 The uniform jacket is a cut-down 4-pocket. Absolutely complete with ribbons, cav discs, and DIs.

Red Devil Posted March 26, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted March 26, 2017 Pants appear to be French-made with silk material added. Named both to the vet and "HQ PLT E" and with markings E/35 throughout for identification.
Red Devil Posted March 26, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted March 26, 2017 Garrison cover is tailored from soft felt.
Red Devil Posted March 26, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted March 26, 2017 The visor cap is also made of felt and has been formed permanently into a neat shape.
Red Devil Posted March 26, 2017 Author Share #7 Posted March 26, 2017 A few "extras" discovered there too! There is a plastic-encased Permanent Pass named to the vet, an Occupation Handbook, and some theater-made patches. I found a TD disc in the lot. I did leave behind several US-made patches and common collar brass--these were more expensive than the theater-made ones.
Red Devil Posted March 26, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted March 26, 2017 I also picked up his shirt and tie. Neat felt chevrons and it had a great old tie clip attached too! This is all for now. Please let me know if there is anything else I can show. Thank you for checking this out!
