BlueBookGuy Posted March 26, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 26, 2017 hello all, just a little doubt about a pair gloves, B-3A AAF. Could have found a good chance to get one more pair joining my small collection of B-3 and B-3A (wartime and postwar, AAF/USAF/USN) at a honest indeed price and good shape, just was wondering if a maker called Ireland Bros. is genuine from the '40s. I know of these glovemakers - Alexette Gloves Co., Klopot Co., Hansen Gloves, Boyce Lazarus Inc., Bacmo Postman, Elmer Little & Sons, Mario Papa & Sons. Suppose Ireland Bros. should be OK but also I know the B-3A has been reproduced in recent times. Was at least such a maker existing in wartime? Thanks in advance. northcoastaero Posted March 26, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 26, 2017 I am unsure about the manufacturer. The WWII gloves may have been made with cotton thread and the later ones/reproductions are probably made with synthetic thread? Check to see if the thread burns or melts. Just a thought.
