Steve L Posted March 26, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 26, 2017 Crispulo Zamora died in 1922 but his wife and later, sons kept the business going into the war years. Would it be reasonable in considering this piece's creation date as 1920ish?

mtnman Posted March 28, 2017 Share #3 Posted March 28, 2017 FANTASTIC! It has a pin assembly which is usually associated with an earlier manufacture of wing. Whether it is in the 1920's or up to World War II or World War II vintage cannot be exactly determined but the maker being Philippine and the association of the u.s. Military with the Philippines starting even in the late 19th century gives this Wing a very excellent pedigree. Well done in your collecting. Steve L Posted March 28, 2017 Author Share #4 Posted March 28, 2017 mtnman; Thank you for your help; I realize mini wings typically don't get much love but thought this one was an exception. It does have the finest obverse detail of any post ww1 mini I have. I also get uncontrollable acquisition urges anytime I run across a maker or pattern of the basic pilot qualification that I don't have; I thought moons ago that I would try to focus on getting every unique pilot pattern; that will never happen but the search sure is fun! mtnman Posted March 28, 2017 Share #5 Posted March 28, 2017 Don't ever discount your dreams Steve because they would not be there apart from the aptitude and energy as means to make it happen. The objectives of a wing collector are extant simply because the person can see the history which he wishes to preserve. The worldwide net of communication we now have, links us up with individuals of similar objectives and similar hearts of great passion to preserve the story of those who came before us. Use that synergy of community we have on this forum to obtain all you need to find those wings you wish to preserve. That search is most certainly one of the greatest joys of a man who has been blessed with a heart to preserve those tiny monuments of the progression of the story of our time upon this Earth, as Americans, in defense of the freedom to live as one nation under God....... documenting the protective responsibility as it passes from generation to generation and progresses from past to present to Future. Well done Steve! That is an exquisite find of a very rarely encountered maker in an area where the US has been active since the late 19th century..... A ton of History backs this one up .....u.s. military aviation history!
