MattS Posted March 25, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 25, 2017 Not really in my area of collecting, but not something I have seen very often before. I thought it was a blue flightsuit until I saw the label.
MattS Posted March 25, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted March 25, 2017 The other shoulder and label. The 392nd Training Squadron was so designated in 1994, so this dates from the 90s onward. The 381st Training Group "is the gateway into the U.S. Air Force for Airmen entering the space, missile, or missile maintenance career fields. Located at Vandenberg Air Force Base, California, the 381 TRG provides initial operations and maintenance training for the nation's space and missile forces." http://www.vandenberg.af.mil/About-Us/Fact-Sheets/Display/Article/1021247/381st-training-group
Brian Keith Posted April 1, 2017 Share #3 Posted April 1, 2017 Nice find Matt! I've not seen/noticed one before. Very Interesting. BKW
viking73 Posted May 22, 2017 Share #4 Posted May 22, 2017 Cool! You don't see those very often. What command patch would have been on right breast? SAC or the Space Command? -Derek
viking73 Posted May 22, 2017 Share #5 Posted May 22, 2017 Whoops, if the 392nd was created in '94 it wouldn't have been SAC. So Space Command for sure? -Derek
MattS Posted May 22, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted May 22, 2017 Either that or Air Training Command because it's a training unit I'm guessing. Thanks!
Martinjmpr Posted May 22, 2017 Share #7 Posted May 22, 2017 I know it's a serious command with a serious mission but I'm sorry, I smile every time I hear of "Space Command." It sounds like something from a 1950's comic book: "The Adventures of Captain Biff Ramjet of SPACE COMMAND!"
