36-tex Posted March 23, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 23, 2017 I am looking for information on this wing and backing. I have never seen the red backing as I have the blue. Is this for the 737th Bomb Squadron Heavy? The crew wing looks like a cheap made piece, but certainly could be WWII era. Thanks!

BILL THE PATCH Posted March 24, 2017 Share #6 Posted March 24, 2017 Looks like it was just a personalized wing from the vet, maybe the doesn't signify anything. But it is very attractive backing. Very nice. Sent from my XT1031 using Tapatalk

Lee Ragan Posted March 24, 2017 Share #8 Posted March 24, 2017 The 737th Bomb Sqd. was a B-24 unit that was assigned to the 454th Bomb Group, MTO and ETO. Later became a troop carrier squadron after WWII. See "Combat Squadrons of the Air Force -World War II", by Maurer Maurer, page 728-729 for more detailed information.
