dskjl Posted March 23, 2017 Author Share #5 Posted March 23, 2017 Were all of these SOS finds? I met a guy at the SOS that introduced me to this seller. He didn't have a table at the SOS but we got in contact started talking met and these GO uniforms are the result. Feeling pretty fortunate right now, my 1st trip to the SOS was very good to me. Martinjmpr Posted March 23, 2017 Share #6 Posted March 23, 2017 As a 2nd ID alumnus, I have to say "well done!" I love that big Indian head patch and the amazing history behind it.
dskjl Posted March 24, 2017 Author Share #7 Posted March 24, 2017 Robert Weinecke gained leadership experience as captain of the 1924 Northwestern University football squad. He helped take what he referred to as an "average team" to successes no one else thought was possible (and, in the view of many, set them up for the championship two years later). He was Chief of Staff of the 82nd Airborne Division 15 June - 11 July 1944 as a Colonel. Nearly a decade later he served as Commandant of the Joint Forces Staff College (1962-'63). Another "lifer" with service in the major conflicts of the second half of the 20th century.
