I found this US Public Health Service badge at the flea market which is sterling and made by Blackington.   This is a full size badge yet no screw back.  Is this a cap badge or maybe a sweetheart piece due to the vertical pin back?

It is for a female USPHS beret.

Kurt is correct. This badge is specifically for the Cadet Nurse Corps of the USPHS. It was pinned to either their beret or dress hat.

Way Cool!
I picked one up a few years ago just like it. I didn't know it was for the Cadet Nurse Corps. Thanks for the great info!

Blackington must have produced a huge quantity of these, as they turn up quite regularly.
