ron norman Posted June 27, 2017 Share #2 Posted June 27, 2017 I had the pleasure to have my Little League coach and close friend Rtd. Rear Adm Edwin C Parsons who flew with the Lafayette Espadrille and wrote the Book. "I Flew with the Lafayette Espadrille " as a lifetime friend. We made the ALL STAR teams all 3 years we were together (me as a player and he as the coach ) and usually traveled together to out of town games (and I heard many stories then.) In my grown up life we would visit occasionally at our family Business and just before his passing I received a call from his wife asking me to visit as I was always his favorite and he spoke of me often. I went down and spent the afternoon with him for a great and rewarding visit a few days before his passing. After his death I went back to his home a month or two later and packed his uniform and related Lafayette Espadrille things and personally shipped them to the Smithsonian Air Museum in Washington. Ron Norman in the attached picture Parsons is standing in the far right and I am kneeling center front.
