historyrecovered Posted March 18, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 18, 2017 Hello all ! Purchased this grouping recently thought I would share it. I may need a little help with researching him but I though I would show you what I found. HIs name was James W. McGuire , he served in vietnam and was sadly killed when he was only about 20 years old. The grouping included quite a few things, named bronze star and air medal , bronze star and purple heart certificates (no PH medal , case only). Very interesting grouping, wish I was more knowledgeable with these but I am learning ! Photos below , may move this to the individual research section a little later ! http://www.vvmf.org/Wall-of-Faces/36791/JAMES-W-MCGUIRE Thanks in advance for any research assistance. Always looking to learn more ! Medal photos will be posted a little later sorry, I had a little trouble editing them to size.
mghcal Posted March 18, 2017 Share #2 Posted March 18, 2017 Looks like he was 101st Airborne. SP4 James W. McGuire (C/1-501 IN) earned the Purple Heart (Posthumously) for military merit and for wound received which resulted in his death while on a combat operation when a booby trap detonated in the Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam. http://lzsally.com/archives/Historian/STRIKEHistoryfor27April03May2014.pdf
