I picked this pouch up at my local surplus store today, because it's darned interesting! It is patterned after the ALICE first aid kit pouch (the one used with the plastic case insert). It's in 6 color desert 'chocolate chip' camo; material feels like BDU cotton, with a tan nylon edging. It has snaps instead of the lift-the-dot fasteners on the ALICE version; snaps are shown in the pics and are identical to GI, marked 'TRW DOT'. It is crookedly marked 'US' on the front; the part that stuck out to me was under the flap. It's marked "checked Dec 15 1990". Is this some sort of depot-made or contractor rush job for Desert Storm? I would normally chalk it up as being a 'surplus store special' but that dated part makes me wonder. It appears to have seen some use. Anyone else have one?

Cap Camouflage Pattern I

Definitely not an issue item but that doesn't mean it couldn't get used, and based on the wear it looks like did. Interesting, thanks for sharing!
