I have no relation to the seller, and I wish that I could afford it, but a nice WWI large OLC Purple Heart / Victory medal group with matching miniatures just showed up on ebay:

Looks like David Marks served on the USS New Jersey and USS Indiana. Are those 3 items in the group Naval insignia?

I would imagine he got notified that it sold too cheap (probably received higher - maybe much higher) offers so he probably cancelled the earlier transaction and listed them again. Looks like he had the items broken up before, so someone probably told him they went together (except the British items don't, do they?).

Just guessing.

He must have found the other stuff so relisted it for more. Still seems cheep. I wouldn't sell mine for less then that by itself!

Congrats to the new owner. Last counter offer from the seller to me was $1100 so I'm guessing someone grabbed it for that. I found a David Marks 165th Infantry Regiment, 42nd Division that was WIA. Bars on the WWI Victory link to either the 42nd or 28th. Too much for me to risk without the AGO card to confirm the LOLC.

Someone actually paid the full 1500. My son wrote some code for me that allows me to see offer history (not user ID, just amounts) and it sold for the full 1500.

The one that looks like a USN officer's insignia is actually US Coast and Geodetic Survey. The cannon is British Royal Artillery. The other is a souvenir USN WW1 overseas pin.

It's an interesting group...I wonder what the relationship is between the British medals and the PH recipient. I kicked around the idea of doing the BIN at $1500, but I'm trying to save my money for things more "up my alley" :)

M/165th Infantry, Rainbow Division.

WIA 3/22/18, 9/12/18 and again severely 9/15/18 (third date is crossed out so who knows).

Very interesting grouping, does anyone know about how long these are up before eBay sees the Purple Heart and takes em down?

I'm wondering if they discovered that the 9/15 was actually a duplication of the wound on 9/12 so they corrected it.
