H&H SENIOR PILOT ENHANCED 3'

been looking at this pilot wing by H&H which is a scarcity by this company. however it appears that the star has been added that can be a repair? -- or enhancement??? what are your opinions on it???

That particular wing was discussed earlier this year. Patrick seemed to suggest it was possibly a jeweler addition. I don't know what to think lol. It's a nice wing regardless of the small bit of sloppy solder.

My guess is that it was a pilot's wing and at some point the pilot had flown enough hours to have his rating upgraded to senior pilot, and then to keep his original wings he had a less than expert jeweler upgrade them by adding a star. Or he may have upgraded them himself by soldering a star onto to his original wings.

As I mentioned in the other thread, at the time, I had 2 identical H&H senior pilot wings with the exact same star and attachment method. Both were purchased years apart from different sources. So either I had incredible luck at finding the altered wings to one pilot, or there were H&H senior pilot wings converted/made by a jeweler in limited quantity or these were factory made senior pilot wings.

I really don't see anything wrong with this wing.

HH has never been known for high quality wings.

This looks to me like a factory applied star on a standard HH pilot wing.
