Very nice! An excellent condition bright blade Camillus Mark 1 like yours is getting hard to find these days.

The Camillus bright blade MK1s are relatively rare. You just don't see them. I have a mint one I picked up a few years ago, only one ever saw. I have always liked the Camillus MK1s, have 4 total. Nice knives. SKIP

All of the bright blade Camillus MARK 1's I have seen have a steel nut on the pommel top. Some of the Parkerized ones have brass nuts. A lot of the bright blade Camillus MARK 1's I have seen also come in a leather sheath with "KEEP THIS KNIFE WELL OILED" on the front.

It took me a long time to find a nice bright blade example like yours.

The #4 variation shown on page 76 of Cole III, (no markings on the reverse), is the hardest of the Parkerized variations to find. It took me almost 8 years to find one in decent shape.

I'd love to see a detailed close up of the parkerized knife with no USN markings. Personally until now I didn't think they existed.

I'm in that school of thought that at least some of the bright finished blades with no branch of service markings were not for the Navy but are examples of late war pilots knives. But still waiting for the smoking gun to show up for that one.

As far as the sheath, I've had three different examples of the same sheath, all had Camillus made knives in them. The first being the example with the embossing "KEEP THIS KNIFE WELL OILED", the next is the exact same sheath with no markings, and the third one has a "5" embossed on the front and on the back of the sheaths blade pocket.

See if these are OK. Two came in a leather sheath and one came in a plastic sheath.
