willysmb44 Posted October 12, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 12, 2008 I pulled my P-47 down from it's hook on the ceiling in the toy room, I've been meaning to take these photos for a really long time. I used three different cameras to get just the right effects. Enjoy! Sitting: Warming up: Ready to taxi out: I tried to get one hanging from a stepladder with the prop turning to look like it was flying, but I just couldn't get the right effect I was looking for... willysmb44 Posted October 29, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted October 29, 2008 The jeep looks a little out of scale, but I like the effects.Funny thing is the Jeep is almost exactly the same scale. The P-47 is 1/18 and the Jeep is 1/20...
Teamski Posted October 29, 2008 Share #5 Posted October 29, 2008 One thing I never liked about the 21st P-47 was the "toyish" windshield and canopy. So, several years ago, I modified one by shaving down the base of the pieces, and it looks a lot more realistic. -Ski
willysmb44 Posted October 31, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted October 31, 2008 Looks good, I like the RAF mirror as well. The figure that came with this plane was never up to me speed either, but I just didn't have the time to commit to making my own pilot figure with more accurate equipment, especially since this P-47 (and my 1/18 scale "Elite Force" P-51) hangs from the ceiling of my toy room and you can't see the pilots anyway.
