Steve S. Posted March 7, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 7, 2017 Had to share this to prove even a blind pig finds an acorn every now & then! Found this early red spacer Robeson on ebay. It was listed in the wrong section with a very vague description so was the only bidder at $50.

Steve S. Posted March 7, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted March 7, 2017 Congratulations, it's fun isn't it? Yeah, just doesn't happen as often as it used to. Back in the "old days" before all the specialized search engines, I used to find stuff all the time listed wrong & made some good money relisting in the correct category. Also used to buy stuff when yahoo had their auction site & resell on ebay at 2-3 times what I paid on yahoo.
sactroop Posted March 7, 2017 Share #7 Posted March 7, 2017 Yes, the market place is dynamic and doesn't come with a good instruction book.
SKIPH Posted March 7, 2017 Share #8 Posted March 7, 2017 The positive side of all the ebay, web site, stuff for sale, is at least we get to see just what's out there, and for sale. Plus you can develop a really good sense on what is a good buy, or not. Nice RCC by the way. SKIP
thorin6 Posted March 7, 2017 Share #9 Posted March 7, 2017 I note that it's a Robeson Shuredge Mark 2, and it has a modern (seven rivet) scabbard. A very nice find. I have tracked the red space Robeson Mark 2s over the past several years, and they tend to be ignored on ebay. I picked mine up in a nice WW2 scabbard for just a little more that this one about two years ago; no one was paying attention to it. I don't have a good explanation for why they are ignored. SKIPH Posted March 7, 2017 Share #10 Posted March 7, 2017 Suspect most collectors are looking for that great "RCC" USMC, MK2 find. SKIP
Steve S. Posted March 8, 2017 Author Share #11 Posted March 8, 2017 there was another one just like this one, but with some heavy bench grinder marks on the edge that I was watching also (in the correct category) . It went for $255 so as usual, no real rhyme or reason at times.

sactroop Posted March 8, 2017 Share #13 Posted March 8, 2017 Well for about an hour today I was on cloud 9. Surfing thru the Bay today looking for another item entirely different, I ran across a listing for a Camillus MIL-K-818 dated 1962. At first I thought they misplaced the decimal point. Hit the buy it now button and completed the transaction. Everything looked good, got conformation with a estimated delivery date for this Saturday, Wa-whooo! Well the seller sent me a message with a full refund, stating that the item had already been sold and was re-listed by mistake. I only hope that someone here was the lucky winner of this piece. Keep hunting.
Steve S. Posted March 10, 2017 Author Share #14 Posted March 10, 2017 had this blade marked Camillus come in today & was amazed at how nice the blade is. I took a pic of it next to one of the NOS blades I have. A keeper for sure!

Steve S. Posted March 10, 2017 Author Share #16 Posted March 10, 2017 Thanks! I have my fingers crossed that the Kinfolks thats on the way will be as nice. It was another bargain purchase due to some very poor pictures, but from what I could tell the blade looked clean.
