I got this grouping at an auction last week and picked it up this Past Saturday. The grouping is from the estate of Clyne S Angle of Floyd Co VA. His family ran a rural country store dating back before the Civil War until his passing in 1986. He was a highly respected man in the community and still is to this day. You can search hhis name online and read many stories abut him and his family.

The grouping was divided in many lots but I managed to get everything related to his service. Mr. Angle served in the 7th Armored Div, Service Co, 23 Armored Inf Bn. He enlisted in '42 and discharged in '45 after occupation duty. He received the Bronze Star post war for his service in France.

The grouping consists of his Ike, Wool Overcoat (not pictured), framed display of his medals & other items, discharge, 7th Division documents, Photos and a box of letters home saved by his parents during his time in service.

When I went to pick up the grouping I met another gentleman picking up other family related items, photos, documents, books all related to Mr. Angle & his family. During our conversation he told me that he was with the Floyd Co Historical Museum and that they were trying to get some items documenting the store and the family since they both were so important to the history of the County and would allow them to scan the letters. I agreed that we would get together soon to loan them the documents. However, as I rode home back to NC I decided the grouping belongs back home in VA & after a conversation today the grouping will be an addition to the museum for future generations to enjoy.

Wow, very impressive grouping. Given how nice of a group it is it makes it even better that it will be going to that museum, as some things are better appreciated near home.

Thanks to all. The grouping was delivered last weekend to the Museum back home in VA where it belongs. A display will be setup honoring Sgt Angle's service to our country & his families service the mountain community of Floyd Co. VA. If you ever travel the state of VA be sure to see the display and a small part of God's country we call home. Thanks to Gerald Via for putting it all together.
