1st Bn, A Co. Rangers Small Group

Bought this group cheap from Kentucky. I figured they were not related, but I found this man's name on the 1974-75 Ranger roster for A Company. These were the guys stationed on the home front during the War.

 

Question: do the ribbons make sense? If you were in support during the War, would you get the VN campaign ribbon?

Last US combat troops withdrawn from RVN n 1972-73. Unless he went TDY early in his Army career or had a tour in Vietnam earlier, no, a Vietnam Service Medal would not be earned for support from the US.
