Cpl. Punishment Posted February 26, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 26, 2017 About a year ago I attended a poorly advertised auction and I was not disappointed! I came out with nearly all of this man's military items (the family got his patches, medals, dog tags, and dress hat but that was all that they bid on and i respected that!) I unfortuantely have no pictures of this man and I know very little of his service. If anybody could help it would be much appreciated! Enjoy! Cpl. Punishment Posted February 26, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted February 26, 2017 Any help on this jacket? It looks like a navy deck jacket. Any idea on the value? I got the duffle bag, jacket, and m1943 field jacket for $15.

Cpl. Punishment Posted February 26, 2017 Author Share #6 Posted February 26, 2017 There are many more papers. Including a certificate of training from his re-enlistment in 1962. And a 1945 print of 9th Air Force scenes (book). The capture papers for the German flare gun are included.

mhalstead1950 Posted February 26, 2017 Share #9 Posted February 26, 2017 Wow, what a cool grouping. It's nice to see that the family actually cared to keep some of the items, so few do these days. Thanks for sharing

R. Watkins Posted February 27, 2017 Share #13 Posted February 27, 2017 Yes sir! It is an EKII without ribbon. It was among this veteran's items. Great find, and that Iron Cross is a nice, unusual added bonus in an AAF grouping.
Cpl. Punishment Posted February 27, 2017 Author Share #14 Posted February 27, 2017 Great find, and that Iron Cross is a nice, unusual added bonus in an AAF grouping. Thank you! This man was in the signal corps and was actually on the ground in europe. In his box which the family got was a combat infantryman's badge. I was sorry to not see any dress uniforms there. BEAST Posted February 27, 2017 Share #15 Posted February 27, 2017 I thought your guy was from Indiana as there is Myrl F. COllins from Boonville. According to his headstone though he was in the Navy. Here is a little blurb I found: https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/87488412/ "Corporal Myrl F. Collins, son of Mrs. Clara Collins of Darbyville, will have a birthday anniversary September 18. Greeting cards should be sent to Cpl. Myrl F. Collins. 569th Sig. A VV. Bn., Hq. St Plat. Co -35404540, Drew Field, Tampa, Fla"
