General Colt Posted February 25, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 25, 2017 Hi guys, I found this at an estate sale yesterday at a veterans estate with a load of helmets, uniforms, and all sorts of other stuff. I payed $5 for it, which is pretty good concidering it is still in the original box. I believe that it is dated 1942 by looking at the writing because it says "4 42" under some other numbers. According to the GI Collectors Guide Vol 1 by Henri Paul Enjames, he says, "A special mask introduced in April 1941. The faceform is made of shaped rubber with a felt filter on the cheeks, an outlet valve and an elasticated headnet." Here are some pics...
General Colt Posted February 25, 2017 Author Share #2 Posted February 25, 2017 Even though it doesn't nearly fit him, Carl makes a real good way to display this thing.
Cap Camouflage Pattern I Posted February 26, 2017 Share #3 Posted February 26, 2017 Interesting, I saw one like this at a flea market a few weeks ago an thought it was a mask missing the eye pieces, it was in really bad shape though, not nearly as nice as yours.
