Sgt. BARney Posted February 22, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 22, 2017 Thought this was an interesting method for camouflaging an M1 helmet for the beach. It is from a magazine style document titled "Camoflage For Marines", published by the US Marine Corps, January 1, 1944, and listed as "Restricted". The document is 80 pages, and the majority of the photos show Marines wearing bare M1 helmets or helmets with nets, vegetation, etc. There is only one picture showing the typical cloth helmet cover. Ronny67 Posted February 22, 2017 Share #5 Posted February 22, 2017 GREAT STUFF. This is why combat used helmets are just caked with all kinds of stuff we can't ever know the full story behind. "Minty Helmets" were NOT there.
