phantomfixer Posted February 16, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 16, 2017 Found this in a barn near Dover AFB...old school USAF stuff found in the barn, old L-2B, HGU-1...all rotting and falling apart.. this was in the dirt... looks like a service panel, two Zuess fasteners, chain to secure to acft, and hooks to secure to acft... Any idea what aircraft> could be airlift or could be fighters from the alert squadrons here years ago...could be helicopter too...

Der Finn Posted February 16, 2017 Share #5 Posted February 16, 2017 Hope you don't mind a correction but it's spelled "DZUS", not "Zuess".

hbtcoveralls Posted February 17, 2017 Share #7 Posted February 17, 2017 any part numbers or even partial part numbers? I know it's filthy dirty and corroded but a part number with the a prefix might just trick out which A/C it's from
phantomfixer Posted February 17, 2017 Author Share #8 Posted February 17, 2017 nothing that I can see....the spring tabs are pretty corroded as is the panel...tried looking for any paint remnants but no joy...hopefully examining the planes at the museum might lead to an ID...not earth shattering but would be cool to say that this came from a C119/124/133 or F106...or earlier airframe
