treetop Posted February 13, 2017 Share #1 Posted February 13, 2017 Here is a group of four metal Sendai wings and one silk hand made para oval with wings direct embroidered, 3 of the metal wings are pinback and one has the pins ground off.One unique wing has "Johnnie" along the skirt of the parachute canopy. Very unusual.

BagmanL6 Posted February 13, 2017 Share #4 Posted February 13, 2017 Those are vey nice. Fortunate enough to have a pair of Sendal wings but haven't seen the other variants. Thanks.
Tonomachi Posted February 13, 2017 Share #5 Posted February 13, 2017 Nice grouping especially the personalized one with the name Johnnie just below the chute shirt. Unfortunately the wing along the lower left is probably a copy. The rear pin back assembly is the type you find on US made wings not the stuff made during the occupation. I guess it could have been an original wing missing the rear pin assembly like your wing on the lower right and a jeweler replaced the assembly using US made rear fixings. However I've seen these in the past with this type of rear fixing set up so more than likely this is a copy.
