The Army Chair Corps

Hi guys,

I recently got back from a little flea market in Portland, OR. I found a few cool AAF paperwork pieces ID'd to the 9th Air Force. I was digging through a binder of some WWII era paperwork and found a piece of paper with some quite interesting and hilarious lyrics in the tune of the USAF song. Because the text wont show up on the pic I took of it I decided I would type it out for you. So, here it goes.

THE ARMY CHAIR CORPS

HERE WE GO, INTO THE FILE CASE YONDER

DIVING DEEP INTO THE DRAWER

HERE IT IS, BURIED AWAY DOWN UNDER

THAT DAMNED LEGAL STUFF WE'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR

OFF WE GO, INTO THE CO's OFFICE

WHERE WE GET ONE HELLUVA ROAR------------

WE LIVE IN MILES OF PAPER FILES

BUT NOTHING WILL STOP THE ARMY CHAIR CORPS!

That's great - thanks for sharing it! Many years ago, I was chatting with a WW2 Navy veteran and he told me he was stationed on an LMD during the war. I was puzzled; heard of LST's, LCM's, LCI's, etc. but never an LMD! He smiled and said, "Large Mahogany Desk". I still get a chuckle out of it!

Very funny! Maybe they should start an LMD Veterans Association.
