Coca-Cola Litho and Frames

I posted this in the patch section because what I originally thought I picked up were patch displays.

But upon closer inspection, the patches were stapled to these Coke ads.

Also they were framed in original Coke frames.

What do you think?

Personally, I thought the posters looked better (as in more of a period, authentic feel) when they were in the original frames.

The new frames look a bit sterile by comparison.

Now, if the new frames will be better for preservation purposes, then that is what you probably should go with.

But read the notes on the other thread where posters advised the original Coke frames had a value of their own.

I agree with gwb123. The patches are neat but there is no value to keeping them together as a collection.

The real value is the posters with original frames.

Thanks for the input guys.

I am considering putting the one set of patches in the new frame and then putting the Coke Litho in its original frame.

The problem is that the Coke Litho has staple holes.

I am going to look into some sort of repair.

Anyway, I found this on the internet - Cards made regarding the litho.

UPDATE:

I put the Coca-Cola Litho back in the original frame.

I then put the least collectible patches in a modern frame.

Then I hung them all in my two War Rooms.

Here is how they came out.

I am especially happy with the Coke Litho.

You can see the staple holes if you are looking for them but it really displays nicely.

I think you made a good call. It has a much more vintage look in the old frame and it really compliments your display space.

How ironic that its use as a backing for the patch display helped preserve it as a possibly much more rare and uncommon item.
