According to sources his dog tag was found in the Old River Landfill in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The landfill closed in the late 1940s, the size of around 20 acres.

I don't know much about Michael, but what I do know is his army serial number states he was joined in one of the nine states listed; Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

I hope the new owner of his tag will give it a good home, sad it was thrown away. But pleased that it was found and his name gets a chance to be remembered as one of the greatest generation.
