Here's a helmet being offered on eBay as a us army experimental with paperwork to boot. I remember reading here that these were utility workers helmets and civilians purchased these at hardware stores for civil defense.

Seller states he has paperwork from the inventor of this helmet. Claims it was introduced to the army in 1926 as experimental. I explained to him I have seen these helmets often on forum sites if they are military, props or civil defense use and he went on the defense that what he has is accurate and true. I believe someone once showed an ad regarding these for sale to the public in this forum. Anyone remembers it?

I don't know anything about it ...but it sure has a civilian look to me.

This helmet is not part of the group tested in 1926. It's civilian.

Is it the liner that's civilian made, the shell, or both?
